MCDC Student Gardens

In collaboration with the Department of Environmental Protection, Westmoreland Community Action, the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, and the Westmoreland Conservation District (WCD), students and community members helped establish our student gardens this past spring and summer. Through OST, students built and filled raised beds and planted produce. The local brewery donates grain scraps for the worm bin. The fresh produce is being distributed to families in need and will eventually contribute to our Farm-to-Table Cafe. The MCDC Student Garden project provides students an opportunity to take pride in their community, creating beauty in their city while addressing food disparities.
